Canter Safari in Corbett
What Is a Canter Safari?
A canter is a large open vehicle operated by the forest department that can carry around 16 – 20 visitors at a time. It’s ideal for travelers who couldn’t secure a jeep permit or are visiting in bigger groups. Each canter safari is accompanied by a trained naturalist guide who shares insights about the forest, helps spot wildlife, and ensures a safe and enjoyable experience.
In Corbett, the canter safari mainly operates in the famous Dhikala zone, one of the richest wildlife areas in the park. The canter follows designated forest trails, offering a chance to see tigers, elephants, deer, crocodiles, and a wide variety of birds. Thanks to its elevated seating, passengers get a panoramic view of the jungle, making it a wonderful choice for wildlife lovers and photographers alike.
