Best Time To Visit Corbett

Open Year – Round

Jim Corbett National Park is open for tourists for all months except July till mid-November due to heavy rainfall and reduced visibility. However, the Jhirna zone stays open all 12 months if the weather is decent throughout. Which means if you really want to go on a monsoon tiger safari at Corbett, you might have a chance.

Corbett in Winter

Winter season lasting from October till February is the ideal season for planning a Corbett safari tour. The temperatures are pleasant ranging from 15 C to 22 C during the daytime and dropping to a low of 5 C during the night time.
The climate also encourages wildlife to bask in the sun, elevating your opportunities of spotting tigers and other animals like leopards, sloth bears and herbivores.
Thus, for high chances of tiger sighting and comfortable climate, visit Corbett in the winter.

Corbett in Summer

The summer months between March to May are characterized as challenging but rewarding months at Corbett. The climate is humid and hot with a peak of 40 C and heat waves making it slightly uncomfortable. Early morning and evening safaris are good chances of tiger sightings especially near waterholes. Avoid the afternoons as they are the hottest times in the day.
You can also spot various species of birds and other wildlife in the summer. As winter is the peak season, there will be lesser crowds giving you a more isolated exposure to nature and wildlife.

Corbett in Monsoon

The monsoon season of June to September transforms the park into a lush, green heaven. Although, the park is typically closed during this time due to heavy rains and overflow that can create treacherous conditions.
Visibility is low, and animal sightings become less frequent. If you’re on a tight budget and don’t mind the rain, the Jhirna zone remains open with limited safari options, offering a glimpse of the park in its monsoon glory.
